I married my wife Germana in June 2008, in the town of Recco, Liguria, Italy

I didn't know that the Mayor would have read three articles of the italian Civil Code:

Art. 143 - Reciprocal rights and duties of spouses.
By marriage husband and wife acquire the same rights and assume the same obligations.
The spouses have the duty of mutual loyalty, moral and material assistance, cooperation in the interests of family and cohabitation.
Both spouses are required, each in relation to their substance and their professional ability to work or home, to contribute to the family's needs.
Art. 144 - Address of family life and family residence.
Spouses agree among them the address of family life and fix the family's residence according to the needs of both and the main requirements of the family.
Each spouse has the power to implement the agreed address.
Art. 147 - Duties towards their children.
Marriage requires for both spouses the obligation to maintain, instruct and educate the children taking into account the capacity, the natural inclination and aspirations of children.

Who expected it? I knew nothing about rights and duties of the Civil Code. After the celebrations, I went to look for articles relating to marriage and found that they are many: from article 79 to article 230. Even the Italian Constitution speaks of marriage in articles i 29, 30, 31, 143, 143bis, 144 e 147. I wrote again and again in acrylic on canvas the articles of the Civil Code and the Constitution relating to marriage.

This large painting is the result of this long write. My wife and I keep at home instead of the crucifix.
